Orient-Express Peru Unveils Two Honeymoon Packages

Orient-Express Peru, operators of two of Perus finest luxury hotels and eco resort, as well as recently launched Hiram Bingham luxury train (a partnership between Orient-Express and PeruRail that travels between Cusco and Machu Picchu), has unveiled two alluring honeymoon packages designed for the growing number of celebrants seeking exotic yet pampering escapes. Attractively priced according to length of stay, both options feature a host of five-star amenities.

Priced at US$2,750 for the 7-night/8-day stay and $1,960 for the 4-night/5-day stay (rates are based on per person double occupancy), honeymooners taking advantage of the packages can enjoy stays at all of the Orient-Express hotels in Lima, Cusco and Machu Picchu; take a luxury train journey aboard the Hiram Bingham between Cusco and Machu Picchu, including afternoon tea, dinner, water, and coffee and tea, and enjoy a guided tour of the ruins at Machu Picchu.

Peruvian Honeymoon Itineraries

Seven-night/Eight-day Itinerary:
Day 1 – On arrival in Lima, you are driven to the Miraflores Park Hotel, where you can relax and enjoy the day at leisure.

Day 2 – In the morning, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Lima, including a look at both the Colonial and Modern periods. Lima, Perus capital, was originally named “La Ciudad de los Reyes” (the City of Kings). Visit the Larco Herrera museum, one the most beautiful and comprehensive museums of Peruvian Pre-Columbian Art and Archeology, located in an 18th century colonial mansion built up over a Pre-Columbian pyramid dating from the 7th century. Surrounded by gardens, this houses the worlds largest private collection of Peruvian Pre-Columbian art (45,000 objects). A special classified storage area is also open to the public.

Day 3 – Fly to Cusco. On arrival, you are greeted by your guide and transferred to Hotel Monasterio. In the afternoon, visit the Capital of the Tahuantinsuyo Inca Empire and then continue to the National Archeological site of Sacsayhuaman, where the complex of Sacsayhuaman; Qenqo; Puka Pucara and Tambomachay are found.

Day 4 – Tour Perus famous Sacred Valley, including visits to the colorful town of Pisac, with its local market bustling with locals who gather to trade and barter their goods. Piscas woven handicrafts are famous. After shopping, depart to Ollantaytambo, an archeological complex that was once a huge agricultural, administrative, social, religious, and military centre in the Tahuantinsuyo era, and is considered a living museum.

Day 5 – Transfer to the train station to take the Hiram Bingham train journey to Machu Picchu, including a Mimosa and brunch enroute. Landscapes change from the high plateau of Chincheros and the impressive Urubamba River canyon to the spectacular slopes of the Vilcabamba mountains. On arrival, a short bus ride will take you up to the “Lost City of the Incas” and Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. Enjoy a guided tour of this ancient citadel, followed by a typical English Afternoon Tea at this Orient-Express eco-lodge, which is the only hotel located near the sacred ruins.

Day 6 – This day of exploring includes a hike up Huaynapijku or a visit to the Temple of the Moon, as well as lunch at the Tinkuy restaurant at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. In the late afternoon return to Cusco via the Hiram Bingham, including a special cocktail and gourmet dinner. Transfer to Hotel Monasterio upon arrival.

Day 7 – Transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival, you will be driven to the Miraflores Park Hotel.

Day 8 – Transfer to the airport for your international departure.

Five-day/Four-night Honeymoon Package:

Day 1 – On arrival in Lima, you will be driven to the Miraflores Park Hotel. Day at leisure.

Day 2 – Fly to Cusco. On arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to the Monasterio Hotel. Day 5 – Transfer to Cusco airport for the morning flight to Lima. Upon arrival, you will be driven to the Miraflores Park Hotel. Transfer to the airport for your international departure.
