Beaune, France's Burgundy Wine Capital, Will Host the Saint Vincent Tournante in January 2005

Beaune will be host to the Saint Vincent Tournante Festival on January 29th and 30th 2005. A rich and magnificent land counting for the greatest number of Premiers Crus in Burgundy, Beaune will be where today’s winegrowers meet to celebrate their traditions and the passion they share for their profession.

The Saint Vincent Tournante is one of the most beautiful wine festivals in the world, introduced more than 60 years ago by the wine brotherhood, Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. All the citizens of Beaune and visitors are invited to share and enjoy the spirit of Saint Vincent.
In the early morning, a reception and colorful parade of the Saint Vincent associations from all over Burgundy will be held, followed by a mass at the Notre Dame Basilica. One of the rituals of the event is the crowning of the most ancient winegrowers by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. The festival also includes the Saint Vincent Banquet and, of course, numerous winetastings in public and private cellars. Additional events include shows and conferences.
A committee presided over by Mr. Henri Cauvard has set up a number of commissions to oversee the festival. For more information, contact the Beaune Office of Tourisme at +33(0) 3 80 26 21 30 or – your news source for the travel and tourism industry.
