Egypt appoints new Minister of Tourism 2004

Mr. Ahmed El-Maghraby was appointed Minister of Tourism on July 14th, 2004. Before joining the Egyptian Cabinet, and in 2002, he was selected Member of the Economic Committee, the National Democratic Party (NDP). One of his major achievements in this post is the development of the study “Tourism Development: The True Feeder for Economic Growth during the Next Decade.”

In the year 1998, Mr. El-Maghraby, was appointed Member of the Board, the Future Foundation; and in 2000, he was appointed Board Member, the Future Generation Foundation. The Future Generation Foundation is an NGO primarily concerned with the development of the youth’s economic and educational well being.

Between the years 1996 and 2002, Mr. El-Maghraby served as member of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Tourism and in 1997 he was elected by the Egyptian Tourism Sector to hold the position of Chairman of the Egyptian Federation for Tourist Chambers.
