World Creole Music Festival 2018 Launched- Jamaican Reggae Superstar Chronixx Headlines
ROSEAU DOMINICA – Discover Dominica Authority recently unveiled a thrilling line-up of artistes and bands to perform at the 20th World Creole Music Festival.
Jamaican Reggae Superstar Chronixx is among the headline acts.
Other confirmed performers for the festival are Trinidadian Soca Stars Machel Montano and Kes the Band, Dancehall artiste Mavado of Jamaica, Yemi Alade of Nigeria represents the Afrobeat genre, Kompa artists Sweet Micky, Kai and Klass; and Zouk artists Jean Marc Ferdinand, Orlane, Francky Vincent, and Stephane Ravor.
Midnight Groovers, Signal Band, Triple Kay, Mizik a Nou All Stars and solo-artiste Asa Banton from Dominica will also feature.
The World Creole Music Festival forms part of celebrations to mark Dominica’s 40th anniversary of independence and is carded for October 26-28 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau.
Minister for Tourism & Culture Senator, the Honourable Robert Tonge told the Launch Party the reveal of the Reunion edition of the World Creole Music Festival was a proud moment for Dominica. “I invite all Dominicans to take ownership of this event, to see it as a triumph over recent adversity and as another step in our journey to recovery. Dominica is ready once again to welcome the world to its shores to experience a celebration of epic proportions. It’s our 40th anniversary of independence and the World Creole Music Festival stands as the centerpiece of what promises to be a cultural explosion,” he stated.
Director of Tourism Colin Piper has said that at least one other major performer will be added to the festival line up in the coming days.
